What is creative altruism?

Creative Altruism is a philosophy developed by John Vincent Lee, which suggests that human agency—through creativity, technology, and entrepreneurship—can be intentionally directed toward creating positive, meaningful outcomes.

Rather than viewing technological or economic progress as separate from social or environmental responsibility, Creative Altruism argues that responsibility can be designed into the systems we build. It moves beyond the traditional model of charitable giving by proposing that the act of creation itself—building tools, businesses, or systems—can be oriented toward producing useful solutions and positive externalities.
